...It's definitely missing.
Unless it's hiding in my room somewhere like the keys I lost and then found in the lining of my bag after paying £40 for replacements.

I spent hours revising for today's kanji test (I even got almost back on track with my little flashcards and stuff), and then got into the lesson and total mind blank. I mean total, I couldn't even remember half the old ones I've known for weeks.

And then I insulted the pocket Kenkyusha dictionary in my tutorial this afternoon, as if further proof were needed that today is not a good brain day. You do not insult dictionaries in front of Frellesvig...even if it is a crap dictionary.

And I should do my mondai and sakubun and my two essays (which make my brain dribble out of my ears with boredom at the best of times, I cannot persuade myself to find economics all that interesting) this evening, but...meh. Just...meh.

So yeah, I'm going to go eat while hall's still open, because I can't be bothered to cook either, and if anyone happens to come across a spare brain on their travels...you know where I live :p

I broke my wrist. Great end to the year. NOT.

So I'm now going to be a grumpy bitch for most of next term, because no working right arm = no sport = no stress relief = really irritable Claire.

Also, I don't like hospitals. At all. Which is an issue especially given apparently I have to go back so they can operate on it and put the bone back in the right place.

But apart from when they were pulling on it to get it back in line, it didn't actually hurt all that much, the problem was the "my wrist is the wrong shape o_o" part...is this not normal? They kept giving me weird looks when I said I didn't need painkillers, but seriously, I get worse pain than this once a month anyway XD

[info]frith_in_thorns will be pleased to hear I've now watched most of the first season of Stargate Atlantis ^_^

And the first episode of SG-1. Leading to me leaving Darlington this afternoon feeling even nerdier than usual on the realization of who it was Daniel reminded me of...answer: the nice cashier in Waterstones who I hold up the queue chatting to every time I buy something :p


...going to watch more Stargate now, I think. More Stargate = less thinking about what my little sister and her boyfriend are doing on the other side of the corridor. I hear noises...

Taking advantage of what will probably be a brief moment of internet (parenthesis 1: why is bittorrent working half the time when the internet isn't? Parenthesis 2: why does the spellchecker on my internet browser not recognize the word 'internet'?) to say I hope everyone had a good Christmas ^_^ And that I'm not the only one eating far too much chocolate (...well, actually, I can't be; [info]deichrodler is still on my flist)

Christmas brings further proof that my grandmother doesn't like me very much. Admittedly I'm not too keen on her either, but I did at least try and get her a nice present.

...not much else to say, I don't think. Except that the way my mother accuses (and the way she says it, it is an accusation, even if she doesn't mean it as a serious one) my aunt of having "catholic sympathies" is hilarious.

I have such a love/hate relationship with political doublethink. It's simultaneously horrifying and hilarious.

Today's Guardian on transferring prisoners from Guantanamo Bay to Illinois:

The US Declaration of Independence:

I do like how 'critics also contend' could be replaced by 'proponents argue' and it be equally true...

...that was altogether far too silly.

Me and my sister should be banned from ever watching telly together, when we start off with innocent commentary on ships in Merlin, and end up by calling rule 34 on Nazgul and the Wolves of the Calla.

And now I have to go watch that episode again on iplayer anyway because we talked over the whole thing.

And by 'talked' I mostly mean 'screamed with laughter' and 'yelled the word "ship" far too many times'.

I am home from university and I slept for 18 hours last night and was really annoyed when my dad woke me at 6pm this afternoon. I now feel vaguely human/intelligent for the first time in weeks.

Also, damn you Borders and your closing-down sale, because I now have to rearrange my bookshelves again to try and fit in the new stuff. And it's not even Christmas yet. After Christmas, there will, naturally, be even more books. And at some point this holidays, I will be in Waterstones looking for Master and Commander (Borders didn't have it) and then EVEN MORE BOOK-BUYING will occur. Especially since I only have one essay and some revision to do for over a month and that is AMAZING and means I will actually have reading time.

Hm, what else?

Apparently I have to go with Dad and learn about bartending. That should be fun.
And driving test. Less so. I need to ring Gary and book a lesson first, too, 'cause I bet I've forgotten everything while I've been at Oxford.
And I need to find the first few episodes of Sanctuary for Ruth, because then SHE WILL BE CONVERTED TOO and we'll have another fandom we can be silly about and the rest of the family will not understand us. Like usual.
